Key Facts :
More than 60% of teens say they regularly use AI chatbots, and more than half (54%) are using chatbots like ChatGPT, Copilot and Character.ai to help with schoolwork, according to new Pew Research Center data.
About 40% of students who use AI for school work are using it for help researching a topic or solving math problems, and about 35% said they're using it to help edit something they wrote.
About 1 in 10 teenagers said they do all or most of their schoolwork using AI, a practice researchers have warned weakens student critical thinking skills.
